Identity Theft

The most valuable thing you own is your identity. A thief could enter your home, with no visible evidence of their visit, and take charge cards, birth certificates, passports, charge card statements, and other items in order to help themselves to your identity. A massive spending spree could be credited to your name, a mortgage taken out on your house, or a loan in your name. One relative had a check book stolen and nothing showed up for over a year. One weekend over 20 checks were wrote against his account.
